Size Guide

Choosing the right size for an evening gown involves comparing your own body measurements against the specific size information provided on each product page. Because fit varies by silhouette, fabric, and construction, the product page is always your most reliable reference.

Measuring Your Body

Evening gowns are typically sized by three key body measurements: bust, waist, and hip. Use a soft, flexible measuring tape and keep it snug against your skin without pulling tight or allowing it to twist.

  • Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape level and parallel to the floor. Wear the undergarments you plan to pair with the gown.
  • Waist: Measure at your natural waistline—the narrowest part of your torso, usually just above the navel. Keep the tape comfortable and do not cinch it.
  • Hip: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat, typically 7–9 inches below your natural waist. Stand with feet together for a consistent reading.

Record each measurement in inches. If a product page provides its size chart in a different unit, convert carefully before comparing.

Reading Product-Specific Size Information

Some Mirazeno product pages include a detailed size chart listing body-measurement ranges for each letter size. When you see one, compare your own bust, waist, and hip numbers directly against those ranges. The chart tells you which size corresponds to your body—it is not a list of the garment's finished dimensions.

Not every product page includes a chart. When one is absent, rely on the fit notes in the description. For example, some gowns are described as having a fitted bodice with a flowing skirt, while others feature a body-hugging mermaid silhouette. These notes help you understand how the garment is intended to sit on your body.

When You Fall Between Sizes

There is no single rule that applies to every gown. The right decision depends on the specific product's construction and your comfort preference.

Consider these factors when deciding:

  • Adjustable features: Some gowns include a lace-up back or corset-style closure that allows you to fine-tune the fit through the bust and waist. If a product mentions adjustability, the range of fit is wider than a fixed-seam garment.
  • Fabric and structure: A gown with stretch-infused knit fabric behaves differently from one built on structured boning or a rigid corset bodice. Product descriptions that mention stretch or a fitted silhouette give you context for how much ease to expect.
  • Your intended look: A floor-length A-line skirt with a fitted bodice sits differently than a mermaid silhouette that hugs through the hips. Think about how you want the gown to feel and move.

Some product pages include a recommendation for between-size situations (for example, suggesting you size up for comfort across the bust or hip). Follow that specific guidance for that specific gown—it does not automatically apply to others.

Manual Measurement Tolerance

A few product pages note that manual measurements may vary by approximately 0.4–1.2 inches. This is normal for hand-sewn garments. If your measurements land very close to a size boundary, the fit notes and any adjustable features on that particular product become especially important.

Still Unsure? Ask Before You Order
